Greetings everyone!
I came here to write a wrap-up post about my ICT class which is the reason I started this journey. I think it is safe to say that this course has kept me outside of my comfort zone throughout the semester. I tried a lot of new tech tools and earned perspective about how I can integrate them to a second language classroom as well as my life. I also had the chance to improve my teamwork. I was surprised to learn how long it has been since AI was introduced and it made it clear for me that it’s a long lasting game that we just caught the mere birth of it.
Therefore, it is certain that technology is bond to be an inseparable part of education and teachers should adjust to it constantly. Not an easy task though.
Between the assigments that I’ve handed in, I believe the most enjoyable one was the interview that we made using the Magic School Character Chatbot. It offered a creatively challenging yet not so stressful experience. I was curious throughout the chat which convinced me that I would definitely use this website in my daily life.
On the contrary, creating a digital story and podcast was far too tiresome for me. To be honest, even though when there are moments where I enjoyed the tasks, I didn’t like the idea of being obligated to put them out here. It also made me think about how important it is to protect the children in terms of their digital foot prints. Just to be cautious.
When I talked about this course with my friends, we agreed upon that we had fun but it was minimized because of the constant assignments we had from several classes. I think we just needed more free time to be able to fully enjoy the process.
Nevertheless, all these challenges make me more proud that I was able to complete the course-hopefully i did so.
